The EMS Registry (https://IndianaEMS.isdh.in.gov/) is a core component of any statewide EMS system, and foundational to the creation of any statewide trauma system. The Indiana EMS Registry is a repository into which statewide EMS data is collected to support three foundational activities: identification of the patient population that EMS serves, statewide process improvement activities, and research. The Indiana EMS Registry was implemented in 2013.
Several Indiana EMS agencies actively submit data to the state EMS registry. For EMS agencies interested in learning more about the EMS registry, please contact the Division Director for Trauma and Injury Prevention, at 317-234-2865 or bcarnes@isdh.in.gov or Derek Zollinger, the trauma registry data analyst, at 317-233-7594 or dzollinger@isdh.in.gov.
The software vendor chosen for the EMS Registry is ImageTrend. ISDH aso uses ImageTrend for the Indiana Trauma Registry. Using one vendor for both registries helps us combine the data for a better picture of patient care delivery from pre-hospital through rehab. The combination of EMS and trauma data allows Indiana to develop a more robust data system with which we can create a better statewide trauma system.
