Know the Facts Relaunches With New Messaging - See Beyond the Addiction

In 2017 the Division of Mental Health and Addiction launched the Know the Facts campaign, with a mission to reduce stigma surrounding opioid/ substance use disorder.

In May, the Know the Facts campaign was relaunched with messaging across several different mediums, including video spots, social and digital ads, radio, TV ads and a large presence on over 7,000 digital screens in communities across the state.

In preparing for the relaunch, research showed that Hoosiers have a high awareness of the facts about substance use disorders - addiction is a disease, treatment is available, recovery is possible - but may not believe them.  As a result, new advertising and collateral was developed with the goal of changing minds about someone with a substance use disorder and moving beyond building awareness about the facts. The new look to the campaign leads with a powerful call to action, “See Beyond the Addiction.”
