DMHA highlights The Recovery Café - Supporting all people on their unique journeys

The Division of Mental Health and Addiction has been an advocate, funder and partner of Recovery Cafe since 2017 and provided the initial seed funding to help implement both Recovery Café Indy and Recovery Café Lafayette. The Recovery Café is an inclusive, healing community that believes everyone is in recovery from something. Recovery challenges may include substance use, mental health, depression, anxiety, loneliness, grief/loss, trauma, overeating, overworking, homelessness, incarceration, or anything that keeps someone from thriving. Recovery Café believe all individuals deserve to be deeply known and loved, and that everyone has unique gifts and talents needed by their community.

Each café offers five programs including Recovery Circles, School for Recovery, Sober Social Events, Recovery Resources, and the Café Space to network and form relationship. At present date, DMHA has helped to implement 13 Recovery Cafes and four Discovery Cafes, the model adjusted for youth ages 12-17 around the state of Indiana.
