FSSA celebrates National 211 Day!

National 211 Day, Feb. 11, 2025, celebrates and helps to spread awareness in the United States about assistance, resources and services offered by 211. Help spread awareness for Indiana 211’s mission to improve the quality of life for Hoosiers by connecting people to health and human service resources through highly skilled navigators, continuous community collaboration and a robust community database and technological innovations by promoting National 211 Day.

Indiana 211
became part of Family and Social Services Administration in July of 2020, and since then has assisted in connecting hundreds of thousands of Hoosiers to quick and confidential support from over 4,459 health and human service agencies in their local communities. Indiana 211’s team of experienced, responsive and compassionate community navigators are skilled at actively listening and identifying needs and providing referrals that best meet each individual’s needs.

In 2024, Indiana 211 answered approximately 186,033 calls and community navigators helped make over 734,200 referrals to local organizations and programs.

Indiana 211 not only offers direct connection to each community though their navigators, community support can also be found online by searching the Indiana 211 guided searchCommunity Events Calendar and/or printable resource list. 

Indiana 211 uses statistical data from calls, texts, and web visits to help shed light on the nature of social needs in Indiana for community decision-makers and governments across the state. Communities are encouraged to search the Indiana 211 dashboard, county-by county, by multiple counties or statewide, to identify top need categories by their chosen metric, including the percentage of unmet needs within each need category.
