  1. Contestants must be enrolled in an Indiana high school, college, university or other post secondary education institution.
  2. To participate in the contest, contestants must post either a photo or video on a social media platform of their choosing that conveys the message of the Drive Now TXT L8R campaign in a completely original and creative way.
  3. Winners will be chosen under two divisions: 'High School' and 'Post-Secondary.'
  4. You may enter as an individual or work in a group with a maximum of four team members.
  5. College Choice 529 scholarship award amounts will be
    1. $5,000 for a winning entry by an individual, or
    2. $2,500 per team member for a winning entry by a group (up to four team members).
  6. The individual or at least one team member must have a public Twitter account to participate.
  7. All participants (including all members of teams) must register at TXTL8R.in.gov by April 30, 2016.
  8. You must provide your Twitter handle (username) to participate.
  9. If you use Instagram, Vine, or Youtube, it is recommended that you link those platforms to your Twitter account.
  10. All posts entered in the contest must be public; Posts from private accounts will not be visible, and will not be considered.
  11. All entries must use the hashtag, #TXTL8RIN.
  12. Entries will be considered between April 1, 2016 and April 30, 2016. Any social media posts before or after that time frame will not be considered in the contest.
  13. All entries must remain public - not private - until contest winners are announced.
  14. Entries should include the Drive Now TXT L8R logo; However, a tweet with only the Drive Now TXT L8R logo as an attached photo will not count as an entry.
  15. Winners will receive their prize through a direct deposit into their College Choice 529 account.
  16. If a winner does not have a College Choice 529 account, he or she will need to set one up in order to receive his or her prize. Winners have 30 days from the date he or she is notified of winning to create a College Choice 529 account.
  17. Per entry, only registered members of a participating team are eligible to each win scholarship money. If a participant is assisted by other individuals for the development of their entry, they may have those individuals sign a waiver and disclaimer, stating clearly that there will be no compensation of any sort for their involvement.
  18. All rules, regulations and policies of the utilized social media channel must be followed.
  19. Do not text while driving to put together your entries.
  20. All content in conjunction with this contest must be free from explicit content (profane language, nudity, violence).
  21. Entries must abide by all copyright laws.
  22. Contestants may enter any or all categories. However, contestants are only eligible for one (1) scholarship prize per team member.
  23. Winners names will be publically announced. Winners consent to having their name, likeness and general personal information (school name, year in school, city, etc.) used in promotional materials.
  24. The State of Indiana retains all rights to all submissions and reserves the right to use the creative content in any future promotion.
  25. Previous participants and winners may enter, however they must submit a new and original entry.
  26. All entered social media posts must be topical, focused on Drive Now TXT L8R.
  27. All judges' decisions are final.
  28. Employees of the BMC, ICJI, IDOL, ISP or INDOT, directly involved in the planning an judging of the contest and members of the immediate family of any such persons are not eligible to participate and/or win. The term "immediate family" includes spouses, siblings, children, and grandchildren, whether as in-laws, or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related.

Photo Category

  • Contestants may post a photograph or composed graphic relaying the importance of not texting and driving.
  • Winners will be chosen based on creativity.
  • Entries must use the #TXTL8RIN hashtag.
  • Participants can utilize any social media platform of their choosing, but the entry must be tweeted with the #TXTL8RIN hashtag from a public Twitter account to be considered.
  • Winners will be selected for both the High School and Post-Secondary divisions.

Video Category

  • Contestants may create and post a video relaying the importance of not texting and driving.
  • Winners will be chosen based on creativity.
  • Entries must be published using the #TXTL8RIN hashtag.
  • Participants can utilize any social media platform of their choosing (YouTube, Vine, Instagram, Vimeo, etc.), but the entry must be tweeted with the #TXTL8RIN hashtag from a public Twitter account to be considered.
  • All entries must be 5 minutes or less.
  • Winners will be selected for both the High School and Post-Secondary divisions.
