INSafe offers free, voluntary safety and health consultations to help Indiana employers improve their safety programs and reduce workplace hazards. Consultants work with both management and employees to identify risks and prevent injuries.
INSafe operates independently from IOSHA. Consultants do not issue fines or citations, and requesting a consultation does not trigger an IOSHA inspection. Employers must correct any serious hazards found during the visit.

Once we receive your request, you will receive a confirmation and a consultant will contact you to schedule a tentative appointment date.
What Happens During a Visit
- Opening Conference - The consultant meets with you or your representative to review injury and illness logs for the past three years and examine written safety programs.
- Walk‑Through - The consultant inspects the facility or job site, identifies hazards, and interviews several employees.
- Closing Conference - Findings are reviewed, and correction deadlines are set.
Reports and Corrections
You will receive a written report with all of our findings and recommendations. Written confirmation of completed corrections is required. Extensions on correction deadlines may be granted upon request.
What INSafe Consultants Will NOT Do
- Issue citations or penalties
- Refer employers to IOSHA if serious hazards are corrected
- Guarantee a workplace will pass a future IOSHA inspection
- Provide engineering designs or recommend private vendors
