The Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology hosts Teddy Bear Camp each May during National Historic Preservation Month. The camp is for all stuffed animals, not just Teddy bears, belonging to children age 5-12 in Marion, Hamilton, Hancock, Shelby, Johnson, Morgan, Hendricks, or Boone counties. The “campers” will visit a variety of places during the event to "learn" about history, architecture, and historic preservation. Photos of camp adventures will be posted to DHPA’s Facebook page throughout camp. At the end of camp, stuffed animals and their owners become official "Junior Indiana Preservationists" and receive a certificate. Additionally, digital photo albums will be emailed to parents/guardians after the camp.
To participate, please fill out the Registration Form and drop off your child's stuffed animal at one of three partner sites at the following dates and times:
