FORMER SHERIFF DIES IN CAPITAL

Funeral for Ollie P. Wright to be Held Wednesday: Death Occurred at Indianapolis

Funeral rites for Ollie P. Wright, former sheriff of Grant county and ex-chief of police of Marion, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at 504 West Third Street. Rev. A. L. Emmert, pastor of the First United Brethren Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery. The body will remain at 504 West Third street until time of the services.

Mr. Wright died Sunday at City Hospital, Indianapolis, after an illness of several weeks.

Appointed police chief in 1914 by Mayor James Batchelor, he resigned that position to become candidate for sheriff.

Following his term as sheriff, Mr. Wright became a state official, and was connected with the office of the secretary of state for several years. In recent years he was employed as private investigator for several insurance companies.

Active in the Republican party. Mr. Wright maintained his voting residence in Marion. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge here, the Scottish Rite and was a Thirty-second degree Mason.

Surviving are the widow Verda; one daughter, Mrs. Wallace Chandler, Chicago; One brother, Henry Wright, Marion; a half brother, Samuel Butler, Marion; a half sister, Mrs. W. W. Adair, Marion, and one grandson.
