Victim's Assistant Coordinator

Services offered to individuals as a part of a criminal investigation or after a report has been made to GCSO:

Assistance in recovering property taken as evidence by GCSO after a case is adjudicated

Hospital response in cases of serious bodily injury and/or sexual assault

General safety planning

Protective Orders

Assistance with cases through Gas City Court- Restitution, court dates, communication with the Gas City Court Prosecutor

Helpful information:

Property taken as evidence- most items of evidence are held during the investigation, adjudication, and final disposition of a case. However, there are some exceptions; reach out to the investigating officer to find out if something can be released prematurely.

Safety planning- Thinking of ways to stay safe following an incident while also reducing the risk of future harm.

Protective Orders- These orders are civil injunctions used to protect a person from further acts of domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, harassment, and/or child sex grooming. There is specific criteria that must be met to qualify for a protective order.
