Hours of Operation (all times Eastern)

The Indiana State Library is open:

 Mon., Tues., Wed. & Fri.    8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  
 Thursday  8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.*
 Sataturday  8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 
 Sunday  Closed

* Please note, the Manuscripts and Rare Books Collection closes Thursdays at 4:30 p.m.

In 2010, the Indiana State Library will be closed on the following state and federal holidays:

Friday, January 1 Monday, July 5 Thursday, November 25
Monday, January 18 Monday, September 6 Friday, November 26
Friday, April 2  Monday, October 11 Thursday, December 23
Tuesday, May 4 Tuesday, November 2 Friday, December 24
 Monday, May 31 Thursday, November 11

In 2010, the Indiana State Library will be closed on the following Saturdays:

Saturday, January 2 Saturday, May 29 Saturday, September 25
Saturday, April 3 Saturday, July 3 Saturday, November 27
Saturday, May 8 Saturday, September 4 Saturday, December 25

Parking Information

Many downtown garages within walking distance of the State Library offer commercial parking.  Metered parking is available on most downtown streets, including Ohio St. and Senate Ave. Patrons do not have to feed the parking meters on Saturdays. Nearby Hotels and Places to Eat

Visitors to the Indiana State Library who need to find a place to stay or a restaurant should visit the Indianapolis Downtown Web site, or check the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association Web Site. There are also two cafeterias within the Indiana Government Center within a few minutes of the State Library.
