Notices

10-Digit Dialing -- Starting October 15, all local phone calls in the 317 area code will require 10-digit dialing. In other words, 555-5555 should be dialed 317-555-5555.

Disaster Response -- If you are a taxpayer impacted by the recent severe weather (flood, tornado, etc.) and anticipate difficulties making the appropriate state tax filings or payments, please contact the department to make arrangements for payment and remittance of taxes owed. We will work with you while you recover from this disaster.

2015 Annual Report -- The Indiana Department of Revenue recently published its FY 2015 annual report. To read it, click here.

School Scholarship Tax Credit Update -- The deadline for individuals and corporations to receive the School Scholarship Tax Credit through donations to scholarship-granting organizations is June 30, 2017. The tax credit program cannot award more than $9.5 million this fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). $5,384,875.00 currently is remaining for the credit. Should the credit cap be reached before the June 30, 2017 deadline, no further credits will be awarded until after September 28, 2017 when a new fiscal year starts. TaxTalk Blog -- Last fall, the Indiana Department of Revenue conducted Tax Amnesty 2015, a program that allowed individual and business taxpayers to pay past-due taxes from periods ending prior to January 1, 2013 free of penalty, interest, and collection fees. Read more...

Electronic IT-20S and IT-65 Now Available -- Indiana S corporations and partnerships now are able to electronically file their 2015 annual business tax filings (IT-20S and IT-65), filed in 2016. For a list of certified tax vendors, click here.

Notification to Gasoline Distributors --  Effective October 1, 2016, the gasoline use tax rate in Indiana for the period from October 1, 2016 to October 31, 2016, is $0.120 per gallon.  For more information, read Departmental Notice #2.
