Waltz Township is one of seven townships in Wabash County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,199. The Township Trustee Office provides Fire Services through contract with Converse Voluntary Fire Department and Noble Township Voluntary Fire Department. They provide our community with services through public safety, medical services, and fire protection by dedicated volunteers. Waltz Township also provides Cemetery assistance to two cemeteries in the township. The township also provides financial assistance for the less fortunate.
The township is home to the Mississinewa Reservoir, which provides outdoor activities through the Department of Natural Resources campgrounds and trails. Waltz Township is also home to the burial site of Frances Slocum. She was a young lady that was taken by the Native Americans which raised her in their traditions and culture. Waltz Township residents school children are served by the Metropolitan School District of Wabash County.
