Council Member
Renee has proudly called Sandborn home since 2011, where she lives with her husband, Steve, and their three children- Evelynn, Orrin, and Arliss. A dedicated public servant and community leader, Renee wears many hats in the town and community that she has come to love. Renee not only serves on the Town of Sandborn Council but is an active member of Sandborn First Christian Church where she serves on the Praise and Leadership Teams. She is a volunteer firefighter and EMR with Sandborn Volunteer Fire Department and works as the Deputy Director of Knox County Emergency Management Agency. She is a committee leader with the Francis Vigo Daughters of the American Revolution, coordinates the annual Sandborn Fall Festival, oversees the Dine-1-1 Ministry, and teaches local faith-based fitness classes. She has a passion for seeing people come together, put aside their differences and better each other and those around them. In her limited spare time, she enjoys reading, sewing, cooking, singing, gardening, and cheering on her kids at their sporting events.
Renee graduated from White River Valley in 2004 with a Lilly Endowment Scholarship and pursued an education from Purdue University, where she holds three degrees in Animal Science with a focus on Livestock Reproduction, Animal Agri-business Management, and Veterinary Technology. She was appointed to the Town Council in March 2024 to fill a vacancy left by Patty Perkins and is honored to represent the citizens of Sandborn and see the difference that can be made when folks come together.
