Each year the State projects future health care claims to set premiums. An increasing need for health care services plus rising health care costs resulted in the need for changes to our health plans. The CDHP 1 plan has been the same since it was first introduced in 2006, but healthcare has changed. For example, in 2006 the average hospital stay was $10,300. Today, the average is $25,960. To continue offering affordable coverage, it is time to update the plan design.

As part of the plan design changes, premiums have also been adjusted with the State picking up a portion of the increased funding cost. In 2024, there will be a decrease in your bi-weekly premiums.
If you stay in the same health plan, your premiums will decrease:
- $5.34 biweekly for single coverage
- $15.96 biweekly for family coverage
Remember, you can also earn rewards by continuing to complete qualifying wellness activities to earn up to $500 in gift card rewards on a single plan – and $1000 if you cover your spouse.
