2024 plan changes for those who currently have wellness discount

Each year the State projects future healthcare claims to set premiums. An increasing need for health care services plus rising health care costs resulted in the need for changes to our health plans for 2024. The CDHP 1 plan has been the same since it was first introduced in 2006, but healthcare has changed. For example, in 2006 the average hospital stay was $10,300. Today, the average is $25,960. To continue offering affordable coverage, it is time to update the plan design.

Here is a look at the 2024 plans:

There will also be a change in your premiums. Because we are no longer offering a Wellness Premium Discount, your rates will increase in 2024. You currently receive a biweekly discount of $14.40 for single coverage or $43.20 for family coverage. The State is picking up part of the increase to help ease the transition.

If you stay in the same health plan, your premiums will increase:

  • $9.06 biweekly for single coverage
  • $27.24 biweekly for family coverage

Remember, you can earn rewards by continuing to complete qualifying wellness activities to earn up to $500 in gift card rewards on a single plan – and $1000 if you cover your spouse.
