The SBOA is seeking highly motivated professionals to join our auditing staff. As a Field Examiner you will be responsible for auditing governmental units throughout the state. These units include cities, counties, hospitals, libraries, schools, special districts, state agencies, towns, townships, and universities. Our agency also establishes accounting systems for governmental entities and provides expertise in information technology systems.
Our starting salary is $50,206. CPAs (and those candidates that become CPAs) receive additional compensation and bonuses.

A 4-day work week is available for all employees with little demand for overtime. There is also flexibility in the selection of a daily work schedule. Work related travel, outside of your county of residence, from the examiner's home is reimbursed. Continuing professional education is provided at no cost to the individual and complies with governmental and professional accounting licensing requirements. We are looking for candidates with, at a minimum, a Bachelor of Accounting degree. We will also consider candidates with a degree in a related field who have completed 150 college credit hours and are eligible to sit for the CPA exam. Serious applicants should have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
