Humans: Bitten or exposed persons are encouraged to file a separate report with the animal control or law enforcement agency serving the location where the incident occurred.
Animals: Reporting animals bitten by other animals is not required. The Indiana State Board of Animal Health advises animal owners to consult with their private veterinarian about appropriate follow up, such as a vaccination booster and other care. Veterinarians can provide guidance for testing.
