Brent Eaton, The Prosecutor
Brent Eaton has served as Hancock County Prosecutor since 2015, consistently helping the county remain one of the nation’s safest communities. A graduate of Wabash College and the Indiana University McKinney School of Law, he lives in Greenfield with his family. Before assuming this role, he worked as a Deputy Prosecutor in Marion and Hancock Counties and in private legal practice. Eaton established the county’s Victim Assistance Unit and created a specialized prosecutor role for domestic violence and sexual assault cases.
He also developed a program allowing defendants with severe substance abuse issues to serve sentences in residential recovery settings, based on his belief that sobriety supports public safety. Eaton is a founding member of the Hancock County Behavioral Health Court, Drug Court, and Law Enforcement Council. He serves on several community and advisory boards, including as President of The Landing Place’s Board of Directors.
