The City of Anderson has received approval of new water rates and financing authority in IURC Cause No. 46171.
In its Nov. 5, 2025 order, the IURC approved a 118.6 percent rate increase, to be phased in over the next five years. The City requested an increase of approximately 121 percent.
In the following testimony filed on Apr. 3, 2025, the OUCC recommended limiting the rate increase to 75.4 percent:
The OUCC issued a Feb. 19, 2025 media release to invite public comments. The IURC held a public field hearing in Anderson on Mar. 6, 2025.

Municipal electric and sewer rates were not at issue in this case. Rates for Indiana municipal sewer utilities are regulated by locally elected city and town councils.
The IURC approved Anderson's previous water rates in March 2015.
