NIPSCO Electric: Gas Generation Proposal
NIPSCO's electric utility is requesting IURC approval to build and operate a 400-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant, and approval to recover the costs through rates. According to the utility's testimony, the construction and financing would cost approximately $643.7 million. The utility is also proposing the creation of a new tracker to recover the costs. The Generation Cost Tracker (GCT) mechanism would be adjusted every 6 months.
