About

The Indiana Lewis and Clark Expedition Commission was originally created by the Indiana General Assembly to commemorate the 2003-2006 bicentennial of the Expedition.  Upon conclusion of the bicentennial, the General Assembly voted to make the Commission permanent so it could continue building on the work it had done during the bicentennial.  Indiana Code 14-20-15 establishes the Commission, lists its members, and grants it the power to conduct certain activities related to promoting Indiana’s role in the Expedition.
