IRP Contemporary Issues Technical Conference

The IRP Contemporary Issues Technical Conference, hosted by the Research, Policy, and Planning Division, provides an opportunity for utilities, stakeholders, and the Commission and its technical staff to understand the complexity of various topics that impact the integrated resource planning process. The event occurs annually, and below are the materials from previous technical conferences.


2025 IRP Technical Conference

The 2025 IRP Contemporary Issues Technical Conference was held virtually on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (ET) via Microsoft Teams and included discussions on data center forecasting and considerations for large load interconnections, alternative approaches to capacity expansion modeling, and ways to enhance coordination to improve distribution system planning.
