For members: INPRS remains open and ready to serve you

Workshops and counseling are moving online and by phone

The Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) remains open and is ready to provide excellent service to our members.

INPRS is conducting business as usual with modifications to help do our part to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), per the direction of Governor Holcomb, the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Generally, you will be able to access INPRS resources and services as you usually would with some slight modifications to our operations:

  • Your online account is accessible as usual and is the best way to quickly access your account information. Log in at www.myINPRSretirement.org. If you need help getting logged in, click here.
  • Our team is available via email at questions@inprs.in.gov. Please be aware; some questions may require INPRS to call you to verify your identity for security purposes. Be sure to provide your phone number along with your email.
  • INPRS’s offices and downtown Indianapolis lobby are closed to the public. Our team is able to assist members with their needs remotely.
  • Our phone lines remain open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST. Call our Member Advocate Team toll-free at (844) GO-INPRS or (844) 464-6777. Call wait times may be longer than usual. Thank you for your patience.
  • Effective immediately, INPRS will begin providing all group workshops and most individual counseling appointments via webinar and telephone.
    • These online workshops and phone appointments will offer the same information from the same INPRS's team of expert Retirement Services Consultants. You can register for these services at bit.ly/INPRSworkshops.
    • If you have signed up for a workshop, please check your email for communication from INPRS related to your session. Your workshop time may change due to scheduling in the Eastern Time Zone. You will receive an email with information on how to log in to our webinar service and a link to connect to the webinar.
    • If you have scheduled a one-on-one appointment, your INPRS retirement consultant will call you at that designated time. Please have the information requested to conduct your meeting effectively.
    • All communication regarding workshops and one-on-one appointments will be sent through email unless you do not have a valid email address on file. You will be contacted by phone or postal mail if there is sufficient time before your workshop or one-on-one appointment.

INPRS remains committed to providing you the full service you need to learn about and apply for the retirement benefits you've earned through years of public service.

If you have questions, please contact (844) GO-INPRS. During this challenging time, providing exceptional service to you while keeping you and our staff safe is our number one priority.

How we’re caring for our employees

We’ve made some workplace adjustments to help protect our employees, employers, and the community at large.

The vast majority of our staff members are working remotely.  Work at the INPRS office is restricted to employees who have been designated as performing essential work that cannot otherwise be conducted remotely and with pre-approval from INPRS’s executive director.

As mentioned, we have closed our downtown Indianapolis lobby to further protect our employees and guests.

We will continue to monitor the situation as it progresses and will look to the guidance provided by Governor Holcomb, the ISDH, and the CDC.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to serve you through these changes.

For employers: information about working with INPRS remotely

INPRS remains open and is ready to provide excellent service to our employers and members.

  • Our offices are now closed to the public. Our lobby is not open and our staff is not accessible for in-person interaction.
    • Baseline applications should be faxed to us at (317) 974-1616. We will be unable to accept hard copies of baselines in our offices.
  • ERM is up and running. All features are functional, and you can continue to submit wages and contributions, update member records, and all other functions that help you do your job.
  • You can still reach our team by email at eppa@inprs.in.gov.
  • Our Employer Advocates are available by phone, as usual, at (888) 876-2707. As we navigate this situation, you may experience delays. Thank you for your patience.
  • At this time, we will not be conducting in-person visits with employers. We are confident we can help you using phone, email, and, if needed, video conferencing. We stand ready to assist you.

'77 Fund Pulmonary Function Tests Temporarily Waived

INPRS is temporarily waiving all pulmonary function tests (PFTs) for '77 Fund applicants as we all navigate nationwide health concerns.

During this time, all requested PFTs will be waived. All applicants whose PFTs have been waived will be tracked by INPRS and will be required to receive their PFT at a later, yet-to-be-determined date. Once INPRS has established this date, we will inform you.

During this time, here’s what you can expect:

Baseline exams will still be required.

PFTs, which are one part of the baseline exams, are temporarily waived. Physicians are not required to complete this portion.

INPRS will track all incoming baseline exams, which are without PFTs.

Once the PFT requirement is reinstated, INPRS will reach out to all employers with waived PFTs.
We will work with you to determine an appropriate timeline to turn in PFTs for the individuals who were granted waivers.

The passing of the baseline examination is conditional upon the taking and passing of the PFT.
A reinstatement date is not yet available.

When INPRS determines a reinstatement date for PFTs, all ’77 Fund employers will be notified.

If you have questions about this change, please contact us at eppa@inprs.in.gov.

How we’re helping INPRS members

Effective immediately, INPRS is providing all group workshops and most individual counseling appointments via webinar and telephone.

These online workshops and phone appointments will offer the same information from the same INPRS’s team of expert Retirement Services Consultants. Members can register for these services at bit.ly/INPRSworkshops.

All communication regarding workshops and one-on-one appointments will be sent through email unless members do not have a valid email address on file. Members may also be contacted by phone or postal mail if there is sufficient time before their workshop or one-on-one appointment.

INPRS remains committed to providing members the full service they need to learn about and apply for the retirement benefits they've earned through years of public service.

Please encourage your employees to schedule time with one of INPRS’s Retirement Services Consultants as usual. During this challenging time, providing exceptional service to members while keeping them and our staff safe is our number one priority.

If members have questions, please have them contact us at 844-GO-INPRS or (844) 464-6777.
