Update Your Contacts in ERM
It is crucial for you to update your contacts in ERM as often as possible. By doing so, you will allow our Employer Advocate Team the best contact list for them contact for requests from INPRS regarding your submission unit or members' accounts. This will also ensure appropriate information is delivered to the various contact types. Please remember you cannot delete a previous contact with your unit, but you can make a previous employer contact inactive and disabled in ERM.
As always, you can always contact the Employer Advocate Team at (888) 876-2707 for assistance.

PERF My Choice Reminder
On June 1, an ERM enhancement was put into effect that prevents all PRF and TRF retirees from being enrolled in PERF My Choice unless the employer elects participation by INPRS resolution. IC 5-10.3-12-32 states that SOI and all political subdivisions participating in PERF My Choice may choose to allow an individual retired from PERF or TRF Hybrid to participate in PERF My Choice. This election is only effective after the INPRS Board approves the resolution. If you wish to remain in the default status of ‘not allow’ retirees to be enrolled in PERF My Choice, no additional action is required.
If you have any questions about this enhancement, please contact our Employer Advocate Team at 888-876-2707. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, Est.
It's Time to Verify Your Substitute Teachers and Intermittent Employees
The TRF annual verification of substitute teachers and Non –TRF fund intermittent process has begun. For TRF, this is a process requiring the employers to review their list of active substitute teachers in ERM annually. This process includes indicating whether that status will continue for the upcoming school year, the member has been hired into a full-time position, or will no longer be working for that school corporation. For all other Non- TRF fund employers, employers must verify the status of their intermittent employees.
This process is explained in the Member Management User Manual on pages 54-58. These transactions will be placed in the Member Maintenance Exception Queue and will remain there until resolved. Please remember that any records that are more than 30 days old will prohibit you from submitting further wage & contribution reports.
How to Report Severance
Remember to submit severance pay in the appropriate fields on your wage and contribution file uploads. If this does not happen, a member’s annual salary is affected, resulting in a miscalculation of the member’s benefit. For a quick review of this step, refer to the ERM Wage and Contribution Manual along with our Employer Reporting and Maintenance (ERM) Wage and Contribution (W&C) File Layout Specification.
