The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention use the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) Model as the recommended framework for addressing health in schools. This student-centered approach includes 10 core components where school leaders can incorporate supportive policies and best practices to improve student health and capacity to learn.

Health Education

Children’s health education plays a critical role in shaping lifelong habits that support physical, mental, and emotional well-being. At an early age, children begin to form routines and behaviors that can either promote a healthy lifestyle or increase the risk of chronic conditions later in life.
