April 6, 2012 DEADLINE: National Award for Smart Growth Achievement Applications The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking applications for the 11th annual National Award for Smart Growth Achievement. This competition is open to public and private sector entities that have successfully used smart growth principles to improve communities environmentally, socially and economically. EPA will honor communities in three categories: (1) Programs and Policies, (2) Equitable Development and (3) Main Street or Corridor Revitalization. In addition, the Overall Excellence winner will be selected. Sustainable Strategies DC is helping communities get organized to compete for this recognition.
