IRO Rotation Assignment

The IDOI provides renewal requirements for Certification of Registration for an Independent Review Organization (IRO) under IC 27-13-10.1-8, IC 27-8-29-19, and Bulletin 193.

Independent Review Organizations are required to be accredited by a private, nationally recognized, accrediting organization.

The Indiana Department of Insurance utilizes a sequential rotational assignment process for external reviews described in Bulletin 193.

The annual license renewal process can be completed electronically at www.sircon.com/Indiana or submitted by paper.  The following items must be submitted in order to renew as an IRO.

  • Application
  • $200 Renewal Fee- Renewal notices are emailed 90 days prior to the renewal date to the email address on file with the IDOI.
  • Independent Review Organization Checklist- Complete only if there have been changes to previously submitted documentation.  Mark the "Located" column for the items that have changed and attach supportind documentation.

Important Reminder: As required by IC 27-13-10.1-8(c)(3) and IC 27-8-29-19(c)(3), an IRO shall file and Annual IRO Report by March 1st of each calendar year.  The report can be mailed to the IDOI or sent by email to compliance@idoi.in.gov with the subject line IRO Annual Report.
