Online Payment Options

Overview

IDEM now offers online payment options which allow you to make payments by eCheck or Credit Card (MasterCard or Visa only). IDEM has expanded the types of payments that can be accepted from our online payment system. Whether you are paying by e-Check or Credit Card, you will notice new payment options displayed in the drop down list on the first payment screen.

  • For customers making an IDEM Invoice payment, please select 'Invoice Payments' as the Transaction Item.
  • Office of Water Quality payments are now being accepted for the following payment types.
  • Please note: Only payments for the items listed below can be accepted online at this time. Customers making payments for Water Quality applications should review the instructions for each of the payment types below.

For Credit Card payments, a processing fee of $1.00 plus 2% will be charged on the total transaction.

For eCheck payments, a processing fee of $1.00 will be charged on the total transaction.

  • All facilities wishing to submit a permit application must remit an application fee. For your convenience, payments may be made through this electronic interface. You will be asked for your permit number when making a payment. For initial permits, please use ‘New App’ for the permit number. Once completed, submit your application via email to the IDEM Wastewater Permit Program.
  • For faster processing, please include the type of permit that is being submitted to IDEM in the subject line of the email.
  • Applications submitted without a payment receipt included cannot be processed.
  • To obtain permit coverage, you must also mail a complete Notice of Intent form with a wet ink signature and any applicable attachments. Once these documents are received, the application will be processed and if complete a permit will be issued.

Industrial Stormwater (General Permits)

  • All facilities wishing to submit an application to obtain or renew permit coverage for Industrial Stormwater (NPDES General Permit) must remit an application fee. For your convenience, applications and payments may be submitted through the Regulatory Services Portal (RSP). Please do not submit payments for Industrial Stormwater using this online service.

Construction Stormwater (General Permits)

  • All projects wishing to submit an application to obtain or renew permit coverage for Construction Stormwater (NPDES General Permit) must remit an application fee. For your convenience, applications and payments may be submitted through the Regulatory ePortal Please do not submit payments for Construction Stormwater using this online service.

Stormwater Run-off Associated with Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4)

  • All MS4 entities submitting an application to obtain or renew permit coverage under 327 IAC 15-13 (NPDES General Permit) are required to remit an application fee. For your convenience, payments may be made through this electronic interface. You will be asked for your permit number (Applications for Renewal) when making a payment. For initial applications, please use ‘New App’ for the permit number. Once completed, please email your application form (Notice of Intent, State Form 51270 (R4 / 4-08)) and payment receipt to the IDEM Storm Water Section.
  • To expedite processing, please include the type of permit that is being submitted to IDEM in the subject line of the email.
  • Applications submitted without a payment receipt included cannot be processed.
  • * To obtain permit coverage, you must also mail a complete Notice of Intent form with a wet ink signature and attachments that include a Proof of Publication, payment receipt, and the Stormwater Quality Management Plan (SWQMP) Part A (State Form 51277 (R3/4-08)). Once these documents are received, the application will be processed and if the application is complete, permit coverage will be granted.

  • All facilities wishing to submit a permit application must remit an application fee. For your convenience, payments may be made through this electronic interface. You will be asked for your permit number when making a payment. For initial permits, please use ‘New App’ for the permit number. Once completed, submit your application and payment receipt via email to the IDEM Wastewater Permit Program.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Permit Application (327 IAC 3) Industrial Wastewater Treatment Construction Permit Application

  • All facilities wishing to submit a permit application must remit an application fee. For your convenience, payments may be made through this electronic interface. You will be asked for your permit number when making a payment. For initial permits, please use ‘New App’ for the permit number. Once completed, submit your application and payment receipt via email to the IDEM Wastewater Permit Program.
  • For faster processing, please include the type of permit that is being submitted to IDEM in the subject line of the email.
  • Applications submitted without a payment receipt included cannot be processed.
  • To obtain permit coverage, you must also mail a complete Application for Industrial Wastewater Treatment Construction Permit (State Form 53161, available on the IDEM Agency Forms page) with a wet ink signature and any applicable attachments. Once these documents are received, the application will be processed and, if complete, a permit will be issued.

Applications for Variances from Water Quality Standards (per 327 IAC 5-3-4.1) and also includes: Streamlined Mercury Variances (327 IAC 5-3.5)

  • All facilities wishing to apply for a variance must remit a fee (as per IC 13-18-20-12). For your convenience, payments may be made through this electronic interface. You will be asked for your permit number when making a payment. For initial permits, please use ‘New App’ for the permit number. Once completed, submit your application and payment receipt via email to the IDEM Wastewater Permit Program.
  • For faster processing, please include the type of variance that is being submitted to IDEM in the subject line of the email.
  • Variance applications submitted without a payment receipt included cannot be processed.
  • You must also mail a complete variance application form with a wet ink signature and any applicable attachments. Once these documents are received, the application will be processed.

Public Water System Construction Permit Application

  • All facilities wishing to submit a permit application must remit an application fee. For your convenience, payments may be made through this electronic interface. You will be asked for your PWSID# when making a payment. For initial permits, please use ‘New App’ for the facility name. Once completed, please email the first page of your application form and payment receipt to DWBPermits@idem.in.gov.
  • For faster processing, please include the type of permit that is being submitted to IDEM in the subject line of the email.
  • Applications submitted without a payment receipt included cannot be processed.
  • To obtain permit coverage, you must also mail a complete Notice of Intent form with a wet ink signature and any applicable attachments. Once these documents are received, the application will be processed and if complete, a permit will be issued.
