Member Performance

As part of their ESP member responsibilities, members are required to submit an annual performance report (APR)  (due April 1) that documents achievements and demonstrates progress toward their environmental stewardship objectives and targets. The report certifies that ESP requirements continue to be achieved.

IDEM shares membership information, environmental improvement initiatives, and success stories with the Indiana Governor’s Office and U.S. EPA. The ESP member county map provides links (double click on the dots) to current members’ submitted APRs and success stories, which may also be viewed on the Reports and Information page.

Membership Renewal

The ESP membership term lasts four years, and renewals must be requested when submitting the fourth APR. The renewal process for current members is very similar to becoming a new member.

Member Results at a Glance

In 2021, the fifty-one (51) reporting member facilities collectively realized significant environmental achievements [PDF], based on their APR measurable results. These achievements include reductions of electricity, natural gas, and water usage, reductions in non-hazardous waste, and increases in recycling efforts.

Featured Member Success

In 2017, IDEM worked with Elanco Clinton Laboratories to feature several environmental improvement initiatives that were completed resulting in both energy and water reductions.  A presentation was made at Indiana’s Annual Pollution Prevention Conference and Tradeshow in September, Energy Savings through Capital Improvements and Procedural Changes, and a success story was shared about their site energy improvements.
