Public Records Request

Indiana's Access to Public Records Act ("APRA"), Indiana Code § 5-14-3, provides the framework for requesting information from a governmental agency. Moreover, APRA states that "it is the public policy of the state that all persons are entitled to full and complete information regarding the affairs of government and the official acts of those who represent them as public officials and employees." (Indiana Code § 5-14-3-3). However, some public records may not be disclosed under various circumstances or may be disclosed at the discretion of the agency.

Pursuant to Indiana Code § 5-14-3-3, the Indiana Charter School Board REQUIRES ALL RECORDS REQUESTS TO BE MADE IN WRITING. Please submit your request by either email or mail to:

Filing a Complaint

For questions and concerns about a school authorized by the Indiana Charter School Board, please contact the school's website for information regarding the school's grievance process. ICSB authorized schools and their websites can be found here.

If the school or school's governing board fails to address the grievance or if you believe additional notification is warranted, you may contact the ICSB regarding your complaint. When submitting your complaint, please be prepared to provide documentation that describes the complaint procedure you have followed with the school. Complaints may be submitted by emailing indianacharterschoolboard@icsb.in.gov.
