Challenge & Opportunities in the Learning Environment Panel Discussion

On Monday, August 30, ICRC hosted a live virtual panel discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities in the learning environment. Understanding the important role culture and perceptions play in the classroom is essential to providing first-rate and accessible education opportunities to every student. This panel discussion will feature information regarding challenges students may face in the learning environment, especially during the pandemic, and solutions that create opportunities for awareness and positive change. Panelists included James Garrett, Director of the Commission for the Social Status of Black Males, Lisa Welch, Director of the Indiana Native American Indian Affairs Commission, Rupal Thanawala, President of the Asian American Alliance, and Dolly Serrant, Hispanic Business Council Director at Indy Chamber. The panel was moderated by Doneisha Posey, Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Belonging of Ivy Tech Community College.
