LHD-IDOH Monthly Webcasts

The webcasts are hosted via Teams on the 2nd Tuesday of the month starting January 13, 2026, by the Director of Local Health Department Resources. LHDs have the opportunity to receive updates regarding current public health issues on both state and national levels as well as share local health department best practices. Events and Trainings

Public Health Leadership Symposium

The symposium will be held in the spring of each year. Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits are offered to all Health Officers who attend. The purpose of the annual meeting is to provide ongoing training and opportunities for the local health department staff to meet and network with their colleagues and peers.

Public Health Nurse Conference

Public Health Nurse Orientation

New Public Health Nurse Orientation will take place in December at the Indiana Government Center South Auditorium. Registration and the list of topics covered at the orientation will be available in the Fall.

This orientation is held annually near the end of the year in collaboration with the Environmental Health Division at the Indiana Department of Health. The purpose of the meeting is to provide ongoing training for nurses and environmentalists. The event also provides opportunities to meet and network with colleagues and peers. Public Health Foundations Certificate

Public Health Foundations Certificate fka Public Health Nurse Ready (Public Health Foundations Certificateis an online certificate program for RNs or LPNs working in public health or desiring to know about how public health works. LPNs and other RNs may find the certificate of interest as well. All courses are FREE, self-paced, and online, with most courses providing continuing education credits.
