The Nature Play Park is a joint effort between the Blackford County Community Foundation, Hartford City Urban Forest Greenscape Commission, and the Hartford City Public Library to bring an outdoor classroom to our community. Started in 2017, the outdoor classroom currently features several activity areas such as the S. S. Reading story time boat, a climbing structure with a messy materials area beneath, and a splash pad. Future activity areas will include a treehouse learning space, tunnel and bridge, and music area.
While some of the smaller activity areas are still be established, the majority of the park is open and available for use.
