Pursuant to Article 5, Section 18 of the Indiana Constitution and Indiana Code, the Governor of the State of Indiana has the authority to fill judicial vacancies as they occur in the state.
As a general rule, the application period for judicial openings will be 30 days after posting on this website. Notwithstanding, the Governor’s Office may extend the application period in its sole judgment or discretion.
Below is a new judicial opening which has a 30-day application period, ending Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
- Marion County Circuit Court
The Office of Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb is now accepting applications for the position of judge for the Marion County Circuit Court.
A vacancy will occur on December 31, 2021, upon the resignation of Circuit Judge Sheryl Lynch. The person selected will serve until a successor is chosen in the next general election which will occur in November 2022.
Qualified applicants should complete and submit the judicial application found below by no later than 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
