About the RAPT Conference

Embassy Suites Noblesville Conference Center
The 2019 Indiana Resource and Adoptive Parent Training (RAPT) conference will be held August 16th and 17th at the state-of-the-art Embassy Suites Noblesville Conference Center in Noblesville, Indiana. Follow this link for more information about the venue.

The conference is intended to provide an annual venue for DCS Resource and Adoptive Parents, and the professionals who support them, where they can obtain current and up-to-date training on issues affecting families. 
This year’s workshop presentations will center around differences and challenges in kinship care, managing common mental health diagnosis’s at home and at school, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, working with families affected by substance abuse, understanding CANS scores, Neonatal Absence Syndrome, transracial parenting/adopting, live car-seat demonstrations, and much more!

Featured Keynote Speaker

Dr. Joseph Crumbley, MSW, LCSW, DSWOur featured keynote presenter is Dr. Joseph Crumbley, MSW, LCSW, DSW. The keynote presentation will highlight the family dynamics and emotional challenges for caregivers providing kinship care (i.e. loyalty, guilt, loss, embarrassment). Also highlighted will be how these challenges are different in kinship care from non-relative foster care and adoption. Implications for resource, adoptive parents and professionals will be discussed.
