Pursuant to I.C. ยง 33-27-2-8(b)(4), James H. Young submits the following statement concerning his efforts and achievements towards the improvement of the administration of justice:

For the past forty-four years, I have been actively engaged in civil trial practice, in Indianapolis, and many other counties in Indiana. Our family law firm represents injured individuals who need the protections our time-honored judicial system provides. Over the years, through extensive experience in litigation and the active practice of law, I feel I have learned what qualities a judicial candidate should possess. I believe I can speak on behalf of and represent all lawyers, whether they practice individually, in small firms or large. In terms of efforts to bring about improvements and betterment of the administration of justice, I have served two terms on the Indiana Judicial Nominating and Qualifications Commission, and just finished a partial term on the Marion County Judicial Selection Committee. Both of these Committees are critical in building Indiana’s strong judiciary, and I am proud to have been a part of important work. I also feel that leading by example, being a lawyer and person of honesty, integrity and civility, is the best way to enhance the administration of justice, and I have always strived to do so.
