DINA M. COX, Indianapolis, is a partner with Lewis Wagner & Trimble. Cox focuses her practice on complex civil litigation, class action defense, product liability, toxic tort, drug and medical device defense, professional liability, and legal malpractice defense. Cox graduated cum laude from Ball State University in 1991 with a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies and earned her Juris Doctorate from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1995. Cox has appeared as a trial and appellate lawyer before various state and federal courts, which includes representation of clients in multiple jury and bench trials. She also has served as an instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. Cox has been recognized as a Super Lawyer and a Martindale-Hubbel AV preeminent lawyer. Cox is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, and the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana. Cox has been a presenter on many legal topics, such as use of jury consultants, effective jury communications, and the use of mock juries in preparing a case. Additionally, Cox has written articles for the American Bar Association Litigation Section, including, “CYBER INSURANCE 101: Coverage Issues Related to Cyber Attacks and Cyber Insurance”, and “Taking payment from someone other than client may create risk of discipline” for the ABA’s Standing Committee for Lawyer’s Professional Liability e-newsletter. Cox has served her community by being involved with various homeowner associations, including acting as a member of the board of directors. Additionally, Cox’s community engagement has involved Board Membership on the Metropolitan Indianapolis Public Broadcasting, Inc, and with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful as well as participating as a member of the Canal Stakeholders Association and the Saint Florian Center.


Pursuant to IC-33-27-2-8(b)(4), Cox submits the following statement concerning her efforts and achievements towards the improvement of the administration of justice:

I have made a significant impact on the improvement of the administration of justice through my tireless advocacy, legal expertise, and dedication to ethics and fairness. As lead counsel in complex, multi-million-dollar litigation and appeals, I have defended mass torts, class actions and professional liability cases, advancing justice and promoting ethical practice state- and nationwide. I have long chaired my firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, and championed mentoring and training for future lawyers, supporting professional and ethical growth. For more than a decade, I have served as faculty with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, teaching integrity and courtroom excellence to hundreds of attorneys. Through NITA, I have helped shape the next generation of trial lawyers, emphasizing not only technical excellence but also fairness and ethics in trial practice. My dedication to teaching reinforces my reputation as a leader who strives to advance justice by empowering others to practice law with integrity and competence. My efforts have improved legal education, access, and fairness, earning my recognition as an Indiana Super Lawyer and Woman of Influence.
