Our Mission
The PURPOSE of the Cass County Highway Department is to maintain Cass County roads and bridges in a safe condition.
OUR GOAL is to provide the best level of service possible with the funding that is available. We are continually searching for additional funding sources, cost savings, and increased efficiency.
Our most VALUABLE ASSET is our STAFF. CCHD employees are encouraged to address all public concerns in a respectful, courteous, and timely manner.

Road Closures
- US 35 at Galveston is expected to remain closed until spring of 2026, as complications with construction of the bridge over Deer Creek have caused several months of delay in completing the project. Trucks are prohibited from using local detour routes and are directed to use the state detour of SR 218, US 31, and SR 18.
