Makerspace

APLS has created the Makerspace to offer this technology to the community! Library visitors can flex their creative muscle while learning about the technology of today and tomorrow.

The Makerspace is OPEN 9AM - 8PM Monday and Tuesday, and 9AM - 5PM Wednesday through Friday. The Makerspace is closed on Saturdays and Sundays unless otherwise specified. Watch for new, upcoming events featuring the Makerspace and using your creativity.

Makerspace Policy

  • Sublimation Printing

    Ever wondered what you can do with sublimation printers? Come in and experiment, see your design sublimated onto a t-shirt, a block of wood, a reusable bag.

  • VHS or 8mm to DVD Station

    Preserve your old home movies! Convert them to DVD here. Gather your photos and make a memorial DVD.

    Video editing abilities include the ability to add music, cut frames or sections out of movies, and combine home movies into one

  • 3D Printers

    Design your own creation to 3D print on Tinkercad, or simply come in and choose something already designed to print on Thingiverse.com or other 3D modeling websites. Come in and see what is available. Make and print awesome 3D models. Used by designers, hobbyists, teachers, and kids.

  • Cricut

    Cut, write and score with one machine! Unlimited Cricut Access includes

    Over 30,000 images - Over 1,000 MakeItNow Projects - 370 fonts

    You can use paper, cardstock, vinyl, iron-ons, fabric, & posterboard. Bring in your own cartridges to use too. Use the Cricut Design Space to create what is on your mind. The DIY possibilities are endless!

  • Scan and Save

    Come in and use our scanners to scan in and digitize your photos or your old film negatives. We have two different scanners for your use on one computer which scans at high resolution and lets you save in different formats for you to store for future generations.

    Please bring in the media you want to store  your digital photos on. We have staff that can help you get started.

  • Button Maker

    Design and press your own metal pin buttons! Our press can create two sizes of pin buttons: 2.25" and 1.25". Materials provided for free, but we ask that patrons bring their own button components if they plan to create a large quantity of buttons.
