On Friday, March 16, Governor Mitch Daniels signed House Enrolled Act (HEA) 1270, legislation that may affect you and your operations. The legislation will take effect July 1, 2012.
This legislation:
Public/private institutions will continue to receive services from former SSACI staff, who will now be employed by CHE. During the transition, partners and customers will see very little effect. The SSACI name will change, as will letterhead and e-mail addresses, but the functions of SSACI will continue to proceed as usual.
Proprietary institutions will continue to receive services from former COPE staff, who will be transferred to the Department of Workforce Development or CHE so they may continue to serve your needs, depending on your institution type.
Accredited and non-accredited proprietary institutions that are not degree granting will fall under the administration of the State Workforce Innovation Council. Accredited proprietary institutions that are degree granting will fall under the administration of the BPE/CHE. In addition, non-accredited proprietary institutions that are degree granting, but seeking accreditation, will fall under the administration of the BPE/CHE. E-mail addresses and phone numbers for COPE staff will change, as will the website.
