1. I am getting an error message that my name/date of birth/Social Security Number does not exist. Why?

A number of factors could be causing the error message, such as:

  • SSACI has not yet received your 2012-2013 FAFSA from the Federal Processor. It takes five (5) business days for the Federal Processor to send your FAFSA to SSACI.
  • You filed a FAFSA for the incorrect academic year.
  • You have not yet filed a FAFSA. If this is the case, please visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to do so.
  • You have filed a FAFSA, but you have not listed Indiana as your state of legal residence. The FAFSA will only be sent to the state listed as your state of legal residence.
  • The FAFSA was saved instead of submitted.
  • The data being entered on your application does not match the data submitted on the FAFSA.

2. I keep receiving error messages and cannot submit my application. What should I do?

Contact the SSACI Grants division at 317.232.2355 or grants@ssaci.in.gov. If possible, please keep a screenshot of the error message.

3. I am not yet enrolled in a program/school. Can I still apply?

It is recommended that you submit your application only for the school you are/will be attending; however, you may apply using the school you most likely will attend. Be sure to update your school choice via eStudent once you are enrolled.

6. Why didn't I receive a scholarship?

7. I don't understand/agree to the Terms and Conditions, can I still receive the scholarship?

No, students must committ to fulfilling the scholarship Terms and Conditions to receive the scholarship funds. For more information on each scholarship program, please visit the SSACI website:
