The FAFSA is the core document necessary to apply for all types of student financial aid available through the state and federal governments as well as the colleges and universities. The completed FAFSA must be returned to the federal government and only the federal government. Do not send a copy to SSACI or your college.

You can usually obtain a FAFSA from the college you plan to attend. Some colleges may require a separate supplemental or institutional form. The college's financial aid office can provide information regarding such forms.
