Looking to become a licensed watercraft dealer in the state of Indiana? Just follow the steps below and you will be on your way!

Step 1 - Important legal review

We encourage those wanting to obtain their watercraft dealer license in the state of Indiana to review the state laws and codes regarding dealer licensing. Please, read Indiana code 9-31 before moving on to Step 2.

Step 2 - Completing the application

Below are the steps to successfully complete the application to become a licensed watercraft dealer in the state of Indiana. In order to acheive superior service, accuracy and cost savings, please read the application and fill it out completely.

    Documents the division supplies

    Documents you must obtain and provide to the division

  • Registered retail merchant certificate
  • Insurance (Certificate of Liability)*
  • Franchise agreement - only needed if "new" is marked on the application
  • Copy of Certificate of Incorporation or Certificate of Organization from the Indiana Secretary of State’s Business Services Division
  • Please provide federal ID number with documentation from Internal Revenue Service
  • Provide social security numbers for owners/partners/directors/officers listed on auto dealer application
*Business name and address on these documents must match the business name and address listed on application
