Finding What You Want

Patrons have several ways to find the materials they need. The Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped has a separate catalog, allowing patrons to search for Braille books, books on tape, and large print books. Patrons may also use the online catalog of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped to identify what they want; the Talking Book and Braille Library of the Indiana State Library has everything listed. Finally, there are Reader Advisory staff who can assist patrons in selecting what they need -- simply call the toll-free number 800-622-4970.

Digital Talking Books

Thousands of fiction and non-fiction titles are available on the new, digital talking book cartridge.  Digital talking books are audio books contained on a specialized, easy to use, flash-drive cartridge designed for use in the NLS-digital talking book player.

Braille Books

The Braille collection includes over 13,800 titles, including both fiction and non-fiction works.  In addition, there are a number of magazines available in Braille for patrons.

Large Print Books

The large print collection contains over 12,000 titles, as well as a few magazines.

The following titles are available from the Talking Book and Braille Library of the Indiana State Library.  An order form listing the titles, ready for printing and mailing, is available in .pdf format.
