Time-Out, Seclusion, and Restraint in Public Indiana Schools

In an effort to better understand the application of restraint and seclusion in schools the IPAS Commission directed staff to commission a study that would collect and analyze all of the current policy relative to restraint and seclusion in Indiana schools. This effort has resulted in the following publications “Time-Out, Seclusion, and Restraint in Indiana Schools Literature Review” and “Analysis of Current Policies”.

IPAS’ intent in providing you with this information is to begin a serious dialogue about the unregulated application of restraints and seclusion in our schools.  Our goal is that ultimately every student in Indiana is protected through the consistent and effective application of policies and practices that both thoughtfully defines and carefully regulates any use of restraint or seclusion in all educational settings.  To view click the following
