Redesign & CMS Implementation

Since taking office two years ago, Governor Daniels has pushed Indiana to think big and to make Indiana more competitive in the 21st century. IN.gov is following that lead.

Users of IN.gov are looking for information or services and want results as quickly as possible. As of late 2006, each one of the State's more than 75 agencies had their own website design, resulting in a confusing user experience.  In January 2007, IN.gov began its 18-month makeover, which includes a complete customer-focused redesign and the implementation of a content management system. The result: the public can access state information and services more easily and faster than ever before and state communicators can update the website in a simple click and edit interface.

Templates for IN.gov Redesign

The New IN.gov design includes an enterprise frequently asked questions solution, which allows agencies to have their most frequently asked question displayed on their sites at all times, and an "I Want To" section, which offers users a quick way to jump deep within the agency's site to find commonly requested information or services. Templates for each of these items, along with additional useful worksheets, are listed below.  Word and Excel formats are available from your agencies' IN.gov Migration Lead, who you should consult frequently when filling in your agency information.
