Collections in the State Archives are organized by the agency, organization or individual that created the records. There are no subject indexes, but the staff has prepared finding aids which provide access to the collections and which are available to the researcher at the Archives.

Brochures describing sources on women, major family history sources and major genealogical and historical sources for African-American research are available upon request.
