The Indiana Collaborative History Group was convened with the support of Governor Mitch Daniels by Jim Corridan, Director of the Archives and Records Administration and State Archivist. The Collaborative History Group has been meeting since late 2005 to identify and address issues of concern to historical agencies and organizations.
As part of that charge, the Collaborative History Group continues to form committees and identify partners to prepare for major anniversaries significant to Indiana and the Nation. The intent of the Collaborative History Group is to seek early coordination and attention for these anniversaries in order to take advantage of existing resources and seek available funding initiatives as they are identified. These Collaborative History Group committees include volunteers as well as representatives from public and private agencies.

Members of the Collaborative History Group also are supporting annual Statehood Day ceremonies in the State House and worked on or with the Indiana Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, which ended January 1, 2010.
