Role of Non-PMP Providers
Providers not enrolled as PMPs in Hoosier Healthwise either through choice, or because they are not eligible to enroll as a PMP (i.e., specialists) may continue to provide necessary health and medical care to Medicaid covered individuals not eligible for Hoosier Healthwise. These providers may also provide services to Hoosier Healthwise members after receiving authorization from the member's PMP.
With authorization from the member's PMP, any Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) enrolled provider may render services to a Hoosier Healthwise member. Services exempt from the PMP case management function may be provided to Hoosier Healthwise member without the PMP's authorization.
