Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs announces new Director of Operations

Timothy Winslow has more than thirty years of experience serving Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA) announced Timothy Winslow as the Assistant Director and Director of Operations. As head of the Operations Division, Winslow will lead the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, IDVA’s Military Family Relief Fund, the Indiana State Approving Agency, and IDVA’s Training and Services Division. As the Assistant Director he will work with partner agencies, organizations, and the public to continue IDVA’s mission to Support, Serve, and Advocate for the Indiana Veteran Community.

Winslow comes to IDVA from a corporate business operations leadership position for a global commercial real estate company. While in that role he managed corporate budgets, financial forecasts, profit loss financial statements, and other business management functions.

Additionally, Winslow is a major general in the Indiana National Guard. As the Assistant Adjutant General he is the senior advisor to Indiana’s Adjutant General. His prior military positions include Director of the Joint Staff, Chief of Staff, and Director of Operations.

“Tim is a fixture in the Indiana military and veteran community and has a proven track record of building partnerships and implementing programs,” said IDVA Director Dennis Wimer.  “His unique and broad knowledge base as a soldier and superb business acumen will be a tremendous asset to IDVA and the Indiana veteran community.

Winslow holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix.  He also received a Master of Strategic Studies degree from the United States Army War College.  Among his decorations include the Legion of Merit with one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with one Silver and one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Master Army Aviator badge.
